About

Dr Brad Ridout

AHPRA Registered Psychologist

I’m Brad, a registered psychologist offering telehealth support across Australia for adolescents, adults, and families around neurodivergence, caregiving pressures, online harm, and other difficult life circumstances.

My approach has been shaped in part by my own family’s experience of navigating complex health, education, and disability systems. Seeing first-hand how much pressure families can carry, and how isolating it can feel, was a big part of what led me to create this practice.

I believe good support needs to understand the whole picture — not just symptoms or problems, but what is happening around you, what you are carrying, and what strengths and supports are already there.

Background and experience

Since qualifying as a psychologist in 2012, my work has included clinical practice, academic research, and leadership roles in nationally delivered telehealth services.

Alongside clinical work, I have led and contributed to research on how digital technologies can improve access to support, strengthen mental health literacy, and encourage help-seeking. I have also helped design and oversee large-scale digital mental health services, including a trauma-informed model of care for people affected by online scams and identity compromise.

How I work

My approach is collaborative, neuro-affirming, and grounded in the understanding that distress is often shaped by relationships, responsibilities, and the systems around us, as well as by what is happening internally.

I draw on evidence-based approaches such as CBT and ACT, adapted where needed for different ways of thinking, processing, and communicating.

Therapy may involve making sense of difficult experiences or patterns, clarifying what is and is not yours to carry, and helping you find practical ways forward that fit your circumstances — including identifying the things within and around you that can help you stay steady.

Anchor In is a safe space for clients of diverse gender, sexuality, and relationship identities and experiences.

If this feels like the right fit for you, please get in touch. You’re also welcome to reach out with any questions before arranging an appointment.
